Drake Brushes Off Rihanna Dating Rumors

Drake

Now that Rihanna is newly single, the dating rumors have started up again, linking her once more to Drake. But despite his admiration for the pop superstar, the Young Money rapper maintains the two are not an item.

Drizzy denies he is dating RiRi, who split from boyfriend Matt Kemp late last year. “Me and Rihanna have a great connection, but no, we’re not together,” he told BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Tim Westwood during his U.K. tour.

While he shared a brief romance with his “What’s My Name?” collaborator in 2009, their relationship remains platonic. “I care for her very much. She’s a great person,” he said.

The 24-year-old bachelor is in no rush to get into a relationship. “We’re young, young kids. Just living life. That’s it. I want to have some stories to tell the kids,” he joked.

Always the gentleman, Drake showered praise on RiRi, who helped him score his first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “I think she sets a certain precedent as far as fashion, as far as all the things women care about—hair, the way you carry yourself, and obviously the music. I think it’s important.”

(Video) Drake Shows Us How To Stroke It

Drake decided it was time to inform the opposite sex on his wants, needs and desires while performing last night at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Before sliding into his featured verse on Rihanna’s “What’s My Name” single, Sherbert demonstrated the “Drizzy 3 Stroke” which probably made a very UK PYT moist for the remainder of the night. Can’t hate on Sherbert though lol.

Jeremih

According to Splash, the first single from Drake’s R&B-flavored mixtape, It’s Never Enough, was now given to Jeremih? Um… okay, I guess. It definitely sounds like Jeremih just jumped over the track like it was his own, but that’s just how I feel.

T-Minus Talks Producing On Drake’s “Take Care” Album

Drake

COMPLEX caught up with Toronto producer T-Minus (born Tyler Williams), to discuss his involvement on Drake‘s sophomore album, Take Care. T-Minus is the producer producer for Nicki Minaj and Drake‘s “Moment 4 Life,” Ludacris‘ “How Low,” T.I. and Drake‘s “Poppin’s Bottles,” and more.

“I talk to Drake on a regular basis. Man, I’ve known Drake from a long time ago. I’ve known him since “Replacement Girl” days, me and Boi-1da produced that. But what happened was, because me and Boi-1da weren’t working that much together, and because Boi-1da was so close to Drake, we didn’t really get to talk as much. But about three months ago, we kind of hooked back up in L.A., and he invited me onto Take Care. We’re all working on his album; me, 40, and Boi-1da.

“I was just in the studio for three days in Toronto with Drake and T-Pain, trying to come up with some records. Drake just went on tour, so when he gets back we’re probably going to get back in the studio to do some more work. But his album is a work in progress. [The other day] I was up for 24 hours because we were at the studio the entire night.

“The new songs were a mix of [rapping and singing]. He actually just did a record in the studio with 40, and man it sounded crazy. It was more of a R&B record, and T-Pain was on it as well, but man, when that finished product comes out it’s going to be nuts. Right now, there’s no true direction [for Take Care]. I couldn’t tell you whether it’s going to be a lot of singing, or a lot of rapping, or a little of both. Right now it’s still fresh. I think he’s probably going to drop like in the fall, possibly October. But I’m not too sure.”

Drake’s “Take Care” Is One Of The 10 Most Anticipated Albums Of 2011

Lil' Wayne

2010 was filled with blockbuster releases from the likes of Eminem and Kanye West, two albums from Lil Wayne, and the hot-selling debuts of Young Money’s Drake and Nicki Minaj. But 2011 is shaping up to be even bigger. This year will see the return of pop juggernauts Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, the teaming of rap kings Kanye and Jay-Z, Lil Wayne’s eagerly-awaited Tha Carter IV, and an album a decade in the making, Dr. Dre’s Detox. But don’t forget about the rookies. The stage is set for Roc Nation’s Willow Smith and J. Cole to take over with their much-buzzed-about debuts.

Drake – “Take Care”

Coming off of his smash breakout mixtape So Far Gone, Drake delivered on the hype with the release of his well-received studio debut Thank Me Later. Soon after its release, the Young Money rapper revealed that he’d already began work on his sophomore project Take Care. Drizzy previously told us that he’s put in studio time with staple producers Noah “40” Shebib and Boi-1da, as well as soul sampler 9th Wonder, and shared with GQ that he’s going with a less-is-more approach this time around. “For Take Care, I’m trying to find a way to make my raps shorter but catchier. I’m trying to condense my thoughts down to 16 bars. And it’s coming out more potent,” he said.
