Drake Says He Wrote Alicia Keyes’ “Un-thinkable” About Nicki Minaj

On her single “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready),” Alicia Keys sings the tale of a tempting and forbidden love that may not be accepted by everyone. The song, which was co-written by Drake, has been rumored to be the story of Keys’ own personal experiences. But who would have thought that the song was also inspired by the Toronto MC’s feelings about Nicki Minaj?
In a recent interview with BET.com, the Young Money rapper confirmed speculation that he wrote the song with the Harajuku Barbie in mind.
“It is [about Minaj], I’m not gonna lie,” Drake said. “The concept came from a conversation that we had, or conversations we have. I wrote it based off two things: Number one, based off that, and then two, based off Alicia and Swizz and their situation, and it just seemed fitting. It was like the perfect concept.”
It was Minaj who originally spilled the beans and revealed that she was Drake’s “Un-Thinkable” inspiration. In a recent interview with Complex, Nicki said, “You know what else he told me he wrote for me? The Alicia Keys song ‘I’m Ready.’ I happen to love the song. I never told anyone that; I hope he won’t get mad that I said that.”
Despite the rappers’ supposed brother-and-sister relationship, the duo have raised eyebrows with their short-term Twitter marriage and Drake’s admitted crush on Nicki. In an interview with MTV2′s “Sucker Free Countdown,” Drizzy admitted he’s always had love for Minaj, saying, “I’ve always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she’s always just looked at me as, like, her little brother.”
Co-produced by Drake’s right-hand man Noah “40″ Shebib, “Un-Thinkable” served as the third single from her latest album, The Element of Freedom. After the song’s release, Drake reworked the track to include a new verse.

Drake Shares Producers On Second Album, Still Uncertain Of Title

Back in June, Drake had considered naming his sophomore album Moments. But speaking with Rap-Up.com on Tuesday night at the launch of “So Kodak” in New York City, Drizzy explained that the title wasn’t written in stone.
Before he hit the stage at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, the 23-year-old revealed that he no longer had a title for the follow-up to this year’s Thank Me Later. “I can’t tell you,” he said of the album’s new name—because he hasn’t settled on one just yet. “I don’t know yet, but we’re figuring it out.”
The Toronto native clarified that he was once again working with his go-to producers Noah “40” Shebib and Boi-1da, in addition to 9th Wonder (Destiny’s Child’s “Girl,” Jay-Z’s “Threat”).
“I started the album,” he said. “I’ve got some great stuff that I’m really excited about. 40′s in a really great place so he’s making great beats. I started working with 9th Wonder, so yeah, it’s good. It’s early though.”
In the meantime, Drake is prepping his R&B mixtape It’s Never Enough in time for the holidays and recently leaked its first track “I Get Lonely Too,” a cover of TLC’s “FanMail.” “I love the words in it and I love how 40 flipped the beat,” he shared. “So I just decided to put it out and give people an idea of the direction the mixtape was going.”

Rey Remember when Cleveland from “Family Guy” spin-off cartoon “The Cleveland Show” said his wife wanted him to come home and “be tender with her”? Well, that’s what we thought when we heard Drake describe the motivation behind his single “I Get Lonely Too.”
“I’m envious of friends of mine that have great committed relationships,” he told Sway. “When people call home to check on their girl or they say, ‘I’m not going to go out tonight. I’m just going to spend the night with my girl.’ That hits me, man. I just don’t have that.”
This morning, the MC-cum-singer released “I Get Lonely Too,” the first single from his forthcoming R&B mixtape It’s Never Enough slated to drop later this year. At the ripe age of 23, Drake said that he’s had his fun. He’s experienced the rush of nightclubs and strip clubs, but they have become bland.
“And also, I’m not going to be the one to drag my own name through the dirt, so to be with a different woman every night is a terrible decision,” he said, explaining why he resists the temptation to sow his wild oats.
“If I can find a connection with somebody that can understand what goes on in this life — and when I say somebody who understands, I don’t mean a girl that understands that I’m going to be with other girls; I mean just a girl that’s supportive and makes it easy to exist and laugh,” he said. “Laughing is a big thing. Conversation’s got to flow. We got to laugh at the same things.”

Last night, Kodak celebrated the launch of its “So Kodak” campaign with a star-studded concert at New York City’s Best Buy Theater. The show, which attracted the likes of Keri Hilson, Busta Rhymes, Chrisette Michele, Shontelle, and DJ Khaled, boasted a double-bill performance from Drake and Trey Songz, who treated the invite-only crowd to short-yet-sweaty sets.
Trey Songz was first to grace the stage, backed by a full band who helped bring his sensual songs to life. Dressed in all-black-everything, Mr. Songz Yuuup looked sharp in a slim-fitting suit, unraveling his bow tie for the crowd-pleasing “Say Aah.”
He teased the ladies by removing his jacket for “Can’t Be Friends,” cozying up to the mic stand to perform “Love Faces” and “Bottoms Up” off his recently released fourth album Passion, Pain & Pleasure.
“‘So Kodak’ is the launch of something very special,” Trey told Rap-Up.com before the show. “The line is around the block. I actually rode around like two times to look at the people without them seeing me. I’m excited about so many fans being here tonight.”
Hot 97’s DJ Enuff presented Drake’s “So Kodak” commercial before the rapper took the stage, with Drizzy explaining his love for the Kodak EasyShare M590 digital camera. The man of the hour emerged for his half-hour set, saluting the crowd as he bigged up Lil Wayne on his “9 A.M. in Dallas” freestyle.
Segueing into “Forever,” the Young Money member kicked his verse from “Up All Night,” taking a seat on the lip of the stage during a soulful rendition of “Show Me a Good Time.”
“I just want to do this next song in honor of my brother,” he told the crowd before reciting his rap from Wayne’s “Right Above It.” “Everybody out here thinking of you and we can’t wait for you to get home. Free Weezy!”
The Toronto native wrapped up the evening with Timbaland’s “Say Something” and “Miss Me,” shouting out all the ladies before his final song. “Let me get my nice shit if this is what I’m doing,” he said before performing “Fancy.” A classy way to end the evening indeed.

Rey Drake got fired up for the weekend by performing his Thank Me Later album cut “Show Me a Good Time” on Friday’s “Late Show with David Letterman.” Dressed in a denim jacket and blue pants, Drizzy ripped through the Kanye West production, taking a shot of liquor at the end and toasting to Lil Wayne, who turned 28 earlier in the week. “Happy birthday, Weezy!” he shouted.
